Bachelorette Party Bracelets: Tips, Styles & DIY Guide
Finding bachelorette party bracelets: popular slogans, what each style costs, buy or make your own for the hen do, plus a simple step-by-step DIY guide.
A bracelet is the cheapest way to mark out your group on a hen or stag do: a few euros per person, on in seconds, and afterwards a keepsake that stays in the jewellery box. They’re especially popular at a bachelorette party, where Team Bride uses them to make itself visible. Here’s everything that matters: suitable slogans, what the different styles cost, and a guide in case you want to make your own.
Why bracelets for a hen party?
A bracelet is less conspicuous than a group shirt but still marks you out as a crew that belongs together. Handy if you don’t want to be spotted as a party group from a mile off but still want to find each other at the bar or in the crowd. It’s also the cheapest accessory of all and goes with any outfit, no matter whether a sash, veil or shirt goes on top.
The classic is a narrow printed fabric band. If you want more, go for bead or letter-cube bracelets, where you can spell out names and short slogans letter by letter.
Slogans & wording
For the print you basically have three directions: personal, short or cheeky. Personal means the bride’s name with the wedding date, or “[Name]‘s Hen Do”. These short slogans work best for marking out the group:
- “Team Bride” / “Team Groom”
- “Bride Tribe” / “Bride Squad”
- “Bride” or “Groom” (for the guest of honour’s own band)
- “Last Fling Before the Ring”
- “Here’s to the bride!”
Make sure the lettering suits the length of the band. With letter beads: short words with large beads, longer slogans with smaller ones, or the band won’t reach round your wrist and ends up as a necklace.
What bracelets cost
Bracelets are among the cheapest items on your cost list. Simple printed fabric bands cost around €1 to €1.50 each, and a paper multipack starts at about €7 for ten. Embroidered versions start at €2.50.
It gets pricier with personalised bead or letter-cube bracelets that you have made up online with your own letters: for ten of them you can easily pay around €50 plus postage. Most bands are one size fits all, either to be cut to length or with an adjustable adhesive fastener, so you don’t need anyone’s exact wrist measurement.
How to make a bracelet
Made yourself, the bands are even cheaper, and the crafting evening becomes part of the build-up. All you need is elastic jewellery cord, a pair of scissors and letter cubes, beads or small charms.
- Cut the elastic to about 18 cm and try it round your wrist to check the length.
- Thread on your beads and letter cubes and slide them to the middle until the lettering or pattern is in place.
- Thread charms on through their hole and position them where you want them.
- Tie the two ends of the cord firmly together.
- Trim off the excess and tuck the ends under the first few beads.
And there you have a band to wear yourself or hand to the crew as a small keepsake.
Matching the other accessories
A bracelet works best when it isn’t on its own. Match the colour and slogan to everything else, such as the veil, shirt, badge or headpiece, and ideally to your shared theme. That gives you a coherent look instead of a colourful muddle, and the group looks like a team.
