Bachelorette Tiara & Headpieces: Crowns, Headbands & More

Bachelorette tiara and headpieces at a glance: crown, tiara, headband and hat for the hen do or stag do, what each style costs, plus an easy DIY guide.

Updated 1 July 2026

For headpieces there’s a simple rule of thumb: one eye-catching piece for the bride, simpler matching pieces for the crew. That way it’s immediately clear in every photo who the day is about. Crown, tiara, headband or hat: here’s the overview of what suits whom, what it costs and how to make a headpiece yourself in a few easy steps.

Which headpiece suits whom?

Headpieces at a hen or stag do are far from a women-only thing, but that’s where the choice is biggest. For the bride, a tiara or diadem is the elegant choice, ideally combined with a veil in the same colour. If you prefer something more playful, go for a flower crown (more on that in our guide to the bachelorette flower crown). For the crew, matching headbands, deely boppers or little crowns are enough to keep the group recognisable as a team without stealing the bride’s thunder.

On a stag do, it’s almost all about the hat. Panama hats and Bavarian-style felt hats are popular because they’re easy to personalise: on a Panama, swap the band for your own lettering; the Bavarian hat gets covered in badges or stickers. On top of that, there are countless hat shapes for hen groups, from cowboy hats to tropical ones, which is handy if the party has a theme.

What the different styles cost

Headpieces don’t have to blow your budget. Ready-made hats from a party shop, often already printed with “Bride” or a wedding motif, start at around €10 each if you buy ten, more elaborate styles from €15. Simple plastic tiaras cost around €15 for a pack of ten, fluffy versions from €20. Light-up tiaras with flashing bulbs are fun, at about €20 and up for a pack of ten.

For the bride, a single, nicer piece is fine, which usually costs €10 to €15. There’s no upper limit: silver-plated tiaras with stones start at around €100. But nobody has to go that far; for one night, a pretty party version does the job. Plain headbands, hats and deely boppers to customise are available from any online retailer or craft shop.

How to make your own headpiece

A homemade headpiece is cheap and guaranteed to be one of a kind. Start with a plain headband or hair clip; you’ll also need glue, scissors, some card and decorative elements such as feathers, beads, sequins or small artificial flowers.

  1. Decide on the shape, whether a little crown, a tiara or a simple decorated band, and lay out your materials.
  2. Cut the basic shape out of card if you want to add a crown or tiara.
  3. Decorate the shape with your elements and let the glue dry thoroughly.
  4. Glue the finished piece securely onto the headband or clip.
  5. Real flowers, moss or feathers give it a natural touch; let it dry well, and the headpiece is ready to wear.

Matching the other accessories

Headpieces look best when they fit in with everything else. Match the colours, slogans and designs to the veil, shirt, bracelets and badges. If the bride wears a white veil, for example, pair it with a headband or tiara in the same colour. That creates a coherent overall look instead of every piece fighting for attention.

Frequently asked questions

Which headpiece is for the bride and which for the guests?
The usual approach is a more eye-catching piece for the bride, such as a crown or tiara, ideally with a veil, and simpler, matching headbands or deely boppers for the crew. That way it's clear at a glance who's being celebrated.
How much do bachelorette party headpieces cost?
Simple plastic tiaras start at around €15 for a pack of ten, headbands and deely boppers at about €20 per set. A single, nicer piece for the bride costs around €10 to €15. Bavarian-style party hats for stag groups cost about €50 to €70 for a pack of ten.
Are there headpieces for stag dos too?
Yes, and here it's hats all the way. Panama hats and Bavarian-style felt hats are popular, because the band is easy to print with your own lettering or cover in badges.
