Paintball

When else do you get to hunt down your best mate… at paintball it's practically your duty. You play in teams and have to hit each other with paint pellets. Budget around €50 per person, and expect a few bruises and plenty of paint stains on top.

Make-up workshop

How about a professional styling session? A make-up artist shows you the tips and tricks of the trade. You can hold the workshop at home or go to a beauty salon. With a glass of fizz, advice from a pro and a few styling ideas to take away, it makes for a lovely day.

Photo shoot

A picture says more than a thousand words, and you get a great keepsake of the stag or hen do. Book a photographer in a studio (they often have costumes too) or go for an outdoor shoot. In big cities you can pose in front of the famous sights.

Dinner with a twist

A normal dinner is nothing special, but you can spice it up: dinner in the dark, or a meal combined with a theatre show or a murder mystery.

Record a song

Do you sing in the shower or in the car? Then do it in front of an audience for once. In a recording studio you can cut your own CD and put the bride or groom centre stage.

Spa and thermal baths

Why not unwind in a steam room or sauna for a change? This isn't just one for a hen do: on a stag do a trip to the thermal baths is the perfect hangover cure the day after the party.

Go-karting

Who's the fastest of you? Find out on the track. Racing gets the adrenaline going and there are different race formats to choose from. Besides go-karts, you can of course head to a proper race circuit if there is one nearby.

A day at the lake

A good day out in nature with your best friends, what could go wrong? Pick a nice swimming lake nearby, have a swim, light a campfire, throw something on the grill and sing a few songs. You could even stay overnight and sleep in tents.

Bungee jumping

Have you ever thrown yourself into the void tied to nothing but a rubber cord? It's incredible, but it takes some real nerve. Most big cities have somewhere to bungee jump, or you can head to an adventure park.

Strip club

What would a stag or hen do be without a bit of bare skin? For some something would be missing, others can't stand it. Best to decide together and think about what the bride or groom would enjoy most.

You can book a stripper for a dance or visit the red-light district nearby.

Games and challenges

For many, games are a must on a stag or hen do. What that means exactly varies: some want embarrassing dares, others go for the classic sales tray, and others are after drinking games.

Get creative, and if you need inspiration, you'll find plenty of ideas on our site.

Local events

Is there an event or festival that comes round every year in your city? Definitely check the events calendar, there might be something on:

  • A comedian who's on tour
  • A gig by your favourite artist
  • A circus on tour
  • A sports event or an upcoming football match
  • Funfairs and town festivals come round regularly too

Wellness

Not in the mood for partying and drinking? Then do something completely different and relax a little. You can host your own spa day at home or visit a thermal spa or beauty salon. It's a good option for a pregnant bride-to-be in particular.

Beer and town festivals

Munich has the Wiesn, Stuttgart the Wasen, and other cities have wine festivals and the like. Wherever you are, there are festivals that come round every year. Check the city's website or the events calendar.

Hot-air balloon ride

The programme for a stag or hen do should stand out, so why not see the world from above? A balloon ride is definitely something special, but it comes at a price. There are launch sites in several places in Germany, but you can usually only book a balloon for about 6 people, so bigger groups need several balloons.

Hire a tram

Not a fan of public transport? Sure? That can change: a party tram, or a tram that stops at the sights, makes for a great afternoon.

Boat trip and party boat

Plenty of cities sit on the sea, a lake or a river, and there's usually the option of booking a boat tour. Besides the standard tours you can often book a special trip or charter the whole boat, including your own music and maybe a strip show.

Classic car trip

Have you ever taken a trip in a gorgeous classic car? It's a great feeling: the wind in your hair, the engine roaring and a fantastic view. Do this one before the drinking starts, though.

Camping

Nature lovers who want to spend a weekend under the stars? Then go camping. The advantages are obvious: it's cheap and it's just you and your friends.

Museums and culture

A museum isn't everyone's first choice, and it depends on the city you're in. Still, most cities have fascinating museums worth a visit:

  • It could be a great museum of fashion, vehicles or similar.
  • Modern art, graffiti and so on.
  • Street food markets and food festivals are a good choice too

Fancy dress

Why not pick a theme for the stag or hen do? It livens things up and looks great in photos. Photo studios often have suitable costumes, or simply order cheap outfits in advance.

You can also choose a special costume for the bride or groom while all the guests wear something else.

Drinking games

For many, drinking is part of the deal on a stag or hen do. If you're throwing a house party, a few drinking games fit in perfectly.

Some need skill, in others it's pure chance who has to drink. Sounds chaotic, and it is, but the fun is guaranteed.

Skydiving

Want to aim high? How about a parachute jump for the groom? It's an extravagant option, admittedly, but it really puts his or her courage to the test.

Check whether it's possible near you. You'll also need to allow some time, and plan it in so the other guests don't get bored.

Wine tasting

A wine tasting is always a good idea! You discover tasty wines and learn a bit of background from a real expert. Another plus: tastings usually take place on beautiful wine estates.

You can stay a while, buy a bottle and have something to eat right there.

Après-ski

Après-ski is popular well beyond the ski resorts. Easy-going music, plenty to drink, and the mood rises along with the alcohol level.

Ski resorts have all sorts of après-ski options. But pretty much every bigger city has a club or bar that does après-ski or something like it (bad music and cheap drinks 😀 #sorry)

Supercar driving

Who wouldn't enjoy driving a Ferrari or another sports car along empty country roads? On a stag or hen do you can make that dream come true.

Depending on how many of you there are, you'll need to hire several cars. They can often be hired by the hour.

Hiking

With your best friends you can also try something active in the afternoon: a nice hike.

It could be a mountain hike, but a long walk round a lake, along a river or wherever suits works just as well.

Sushi class

Once they're off the market, the bride and groom will have to cook for themselves more often. Help them out with a sushi class.

You don't just learn how to make the tasty rolls, you get to eat them too.

Picnic in the park

A must in summer: a nice picnic in the park. Pack a few treats, some bottles of beer or a bottle of fizz, and a blanket.

Every city has a park, and if you're out in the countryside there's plenty of choice anyway.

Brewery tour

On a brewery tour you learn how beer is made and of course get to taste it. A few beers (or even all of them) are usually included. Handily, there's often the chance to get a hearty snack too.

It doesn't have to be one of the big breweries; small ones are great as well and often more personal.

Flashback

We all have that one song from our youth, that one T-shirt we loved wearing, and that one person our heart beat for!

Give the bride or groom a flashback and take a trip into the past.

Cinema

And what if it rains? Or everyone is wrecked from the night before? Then fit in a trip to the cinema.

Watch a good blockbuster and relax for a bit.

Mud wrestling

Fancy a bit of bare skin? Women rolling around in the mud? Sounds dirty, and it is! Mud wrestling makes teenage fantasies come true. You'll mostly only find it in bigger cities and party hotspots.

Rafting

Being on the water always feels good, with a bit of action thrown in! A log raft trip is the relaxed version, a rafting tour the faster one.

Have a look at the rivers and lakes nearby to see what's on offer.

Ice stock sport

In winter it isn't easy to find ideas for a stag or hen do, as lots of things are off the table. But there are a few seasonal specials: ice stock sport, a bit like curling.

Mulled wine keeps you warm while you compete on the ice.

Theatre and opera

A stag or hen do doesn't have to be completely without class. Bigger cities give you the chance to go to the opera or the theatre.

Dress up and give your mind something to chew on.

Treasure hunt

We probably all have childhood memories of a treasure hunt. It was great fun back then, and it can still be today.

The best set-up: an advance party hides the riddles and tasks, and the main group around the groom has to solve them.

Festivals

With a bit of luck there's a festival on exactly when your hen do takes place. If it matches your taste in music too, it's perfect.

Book the tickets and party!

Sales tray

It's almost a tradition in Germany: walking through the town centre with a sales tray round your neck, selling small items and completing stag and hen do challenges.

It's not a must, of course, but especially in rural areas you still often see groups with a sales tray.

Pole dancing class

For many, pole dancing is the epitome of eroticism and strip shows. But hang on: many forget that pole dancing is really hard work and keeps you fit.

Whatever other people think, if you want to give it a go, the hen do is the right time.

Christmas market

A stag or hen do in winter does limit your options. But there are still some nice ones, for example a trip to the Christmas market.

Somewhere "Last Christmas" will probably be playing, but after a few mulled wines even that's bearable 😉. Tip: in bigger cities you can go Christmas market hopping, i.e. visit 5 of them and stay where you like it best.

Climbing park and high ropes

Many only know it as a team-building exercise. But climbing is a good activity for a stag or hen do too!

Climbing parks and high ropes courses bring action and fun and make for an entertaining afternoon. Just remember not to drink too much beforehand…

Zoo

Is there a zoo or a zoological garden near you? Pop in and look at some beautiful plants and animals.

PS: We feel sorry for the animals, so if you go, please leave a donation for them.

Sightseeing

Every city and every region has sights worth a visit. You get great views, impressive buildings or historic places.

Best do a bit of research first and plan a rough route so you don't zigzag around.

Dance class

Has the bride always dreamed of taking a salsa or hip-hop class? Then you know what to do. Take her to a good dance class and make her dream come true.

Tip: you can also learn some sexy dances.

Street art tour

Street art is special and can be found in most bigger cities and big metropolises anyway. The good thing: you don't need to budget for it, as the artworks are out in public.

Look into it beforehand and walk through the city, or hire bikes or e-scooters.

Bike ride

A bike ride to a nice lake or another place worth seeing is a good activity in itself. You can add breaks, a beer garden and so on, so it's not too strenuous.

Tip: if you want to take it easy, just hire e-bikes.

Skiing

A ski trip isn't an option everywhere, of course. But if the mountains aren't too far away (or there's an indoor ski slope nearby), it's worth considering. You can easily hire the equipment on site, and afterwards you'll surely find a mountain hut to stop at.

Bowling

A round of bowling is a perfect start to the evening: you can test your skill, drink a few beers on the side and have a good chat. There are bowling alleys in pretty much every big and medium-sized city.

Floating

Do you actually know what floating is? Seriously relaxing :D. But not just that. In highly concentrated salt water you float on the surface and can relax completely.

Horse riding

Is the bride mad about horses? Then treat her to a lovely ride, on the beach or through the woods, she's sure to love it. A ride also goes well with a picnic afterwards.

XXL stripper

Almost every man has seen a pretty stripper at some point. But how about presenting the groom with an XXL model? If he survives the weight, you'll definitely have something to laugh about afterwards!

Whisky tasting

You've probably had this idea already: simply taste a few good whiskies together in style. At a mate's place or in a gentlemen's bar, maybe with a good cigar… sounds like a good plan, doesn't it?

Bubble football

Wrapped in giant air bubbles, you play football against each other. The catch: when you collide, you fly metres through the air. But that's exactly the fun of it, because it doesn't hurt and you have loads of laughs.

Theme park

Is there a theme park near you? Then jump in the car and off you go! It's a great afternoon activity, with rollercoasters, bumper cars and more.

Comedy

No comedian among your friends? No problem, that's what comedy buses and stand-up shows are for. You get plenty of laughs and can enjoy a beer while you listen.

Hire a limo

For many, a ride in a stretch limo is a fixed part of a stag or hen do: a glass of fizz or a drink in your hand, a stripper performing and good music. Sounds good, is good.

Brewing or cocktail class

How about a good Mai Tai, a Bloody Mary or a Singapore Sling? No idea what we're talking about? Then you really should take a cocktail-making class! Lots of bars offer them.

Tip: craft breweries offer brewing classes too, for the beer drinkers among you!

Tobogganing

Not keen on skiing but still want snow? Then go tobogganing. Pretty much anyone can do it and it's loads of fun too! Some toboggan runs let you hire a sledge.

Pyjama party

It's a bit cheesy, admittedly: pretty young women in negligees with a glass of fizz in hand… 😀 Who cares, it's fun and cosy! Put plenty of fizz on ice, put on some good music, maybe a good film, and enjoy the evening together.

Jewellery workshop

Are you artistic, or want to find out? At a jewellery workshop you can make a ring, a necklace or a pendant. And don't worry: with professional guidance even clumsy hands will create a lovely piece.

Mini golf and glow golf

A round of mini golf in the afternoon is a relaxed option! Especially in good weather you can get together, enjoy a beer and chat. Tip: have you heard of glow golf? The holes are lit with neon lights so you can play at night. Really cool, give it a try!

Red-light district

For many, a stag or hen do also has something to do with eroticism and bare skin. A walk through a red-light district fits right in. Depending on where you are, the options may be limited. If you like, you can also go to a strip club and treat the groom to a show.

Hire a party bus

Why not cruise through the city with the whole gang, with drinks and good music! Just hire a party bus, that's exactly what it's for!

Stadium visit

Is the groom football mad? Even better: go and watch a match of his favourite team. And if there's no match on, book a stadium tour, where you'll see the players' changing rooms and training areas.

Games night

A games night is always a good option: you don't depend on the weather, you save money and you have time for each other. Get some snacks and drinks, put on a good playlist and play a round of poker, Taboo, a drinking game, Monopoly, Catan, Risk and so on.

Quiz

A quiz really puts the bride's or groom's knowledge to the test. It could be a quiz trail through the city with riddles about the place, or one about marriage, sex and other topics.

Beer bike

Feel lonely on a bike? Then you clearly haven't met the beer bike yet. You sit in a circle, all pedal together and can drink at the same time. Best do a tour through the park so there's time to chat too.

Ice skating

Is it properly cold and you're after action and fun on your stag or hen do? Then pack a flask of mulled wine and head to a frozen lake. You can also skate at many Christmas markets, although space is limited.

Indoor skydiving

Have you heard of body flying? In a wind tunnel you get the feeling of weightlessness, because a strong stream of air from below makes you float.

Hop-on hop-off bus

If you want to do a sightseeing tour but are too lazy to walk to everything, just take a hop-on hop-off bus. If you particularly like a sight, hop off and catch the next one later.

Tip: in cities with a river or canals, such as Hamburg or Amsterdam, there are boat versions too.

Sex toy party

A sex toy party is like a Tupperware party (only nowhere near as tedious, pointless and boring :D). You invite a "consultant" from a sex shop or similar to your home. She presents the range, explains the differences and everything you can do with them. Wide eyes from the bride, blushing cheeks and loads of fun guaranteed.

Historical tours

A city tour doesn't have to stick to the sights. There are lots of themed tours focusing on the Middle Ages, eroticism, culinary highlights, underground structures (bunkers), catacombs, the Third Reich and more.

Of course not every tour suits a drunk group, so please bear that in mind.

Summer bobsleigh

Ever whizzed down a mountain in a bobsleigh? That's quite something. We don't mean the winter sport, by the way, but summer toboggan runs. You ride down a track with the control lever, and hopefully a working brake, in your hands.

Painting class

Painting is art and not just for kids and artists. In a painting class a pro teaches you what to look out for. There are creative formats too, where the pictures come about more on impulse.

Quad biking

A quad bike can pack quite a punch. You don't go at top speed, but you can tackle rough terrain and muddy puddles. There are different tours depending on where you are.

Beat the groom

You probably know German TV game shows like "Schlag den Raab" or "Schlag den Star", where contestants take on a celebrity. There's something similar for stag and hen dos: you compete against the groom or the bride in a series of games.

Tip: you can of course come up with all the challenges yourselves!

Casino

All on red, or black after all? A casino visit is a chance to dress up and look sharp. Grab a drink and gamble a few euros, within reason. Every bigger city has a casino or an amusement arcade.

Shopping

Shopping is especially popular on hen dos: even if it rains or plans change suddenly, you can quickly head to a shopping street or department store and spend a few hours shopping.

VIP clubbing

Want the extravagant version? No problem: book a VIP table in a trendy club. To arrive in proper style, turn up in a stretch limo.

Pub crawl

Working your way through a pub district with your best friends ❤️. What could go wrong? Pick a few pubs you'd like to visit and off you go! If you don't know the pub scene in the city well, you can book a guided pub crawl.

City tour

A classic city tour is a good way to get to know a city a little. There's usually more behind the sights than just a nice view or a pretty facade, and a guided tour gives you a look behind the scenes.

Food tour

Any foodies among you? Then wander round a food market, try a bite here and there, linger, move on to the next market, or have a picnic in the park.

Tank driving

OK, this isn't everyone's idea of a stag or hen do, but each to their own. You can ride along in a real tank and see the beast from the inside. Check in advance where it's possible, as it's only offered at a few places in Germany.

Beauty day

A day just for you, with the full pampering programme: wouldn't that be something for a hen do? If you fancy it, look for suitable offers: a spa, a hairdresser, a Thai massage and so on, or invite a beauty pro to your home and learn first-hand what to look out for.

Segway tour

Hungover and too lazy to walk, but still want to see something of the city? Then hop on a Segway and get to know the city standing up, but with plenty of momentum.

Flea market

Flea markets are a great way to browse, pick up little things and have a glass of fizz or a beer. Besides the bigger markets there are often permanent indoor flea markets too. Just check the events in the city you're visiting.

Cooking class

Well, lads and ladies, this is getting serious. Married life means you have to be able to cook. So a cooking class for the stag or hen do is a far-sighted idea. You can invite a chef to your place or go to a cookery school. There's a wide range of cuisines, so just see what's available nearby.

Escape room

You're locked in and have to solve a puzzle within a set time, or you lose. With skill and ingenuity you can crack it. Escape rooms often come in different themes, so there may be one that suits you.

Live band or gig

A gig is always a highlight! See whether a good band happens to be playing around the time of the stag or hen do. Otherwise there may be a bar with a live band on the programme.

Laser tag

Laser tag is the "soft" version of paintball. You have to hit your opponents with a marker. To register hits, you wear special gear.

Stand-up paddleboarding

Is there a lake or a gentle river nearby and you're still looking for something active for the afternoon? Then give stand-up paddleboarding a go. It works the whole body and it's fun.

Perfume workshop

Don't want to smell like everyone else? Then make your own perfume! Guided by an expert, you create your own scent with exactly the notes you like best.

Stripper

Bare skin is part of a stag or hen do! That's how most people see it, do you? Either way, you can book a stripper to come to your home, and the groom or bride gets to see, or touch, another body one more time (please be sure to agree with the dancer what's OK and what isn't) before the wedding…

Houseboat and sauna raft

Did you know there are lovely houseboats and floating sauna rafts you can actually sail? You can spend a whole weekend on a lake or just an evening in the sauna. It's really worth it: you're so close to nature, with the lake right beneath you!

Craft workshop

Crafts aren't just for kids: show off your skills at a craft workshop. It could be pottery, blacksmithing or a jewellery workshop. You'll make great handmade pieces that are also a lovely reminder of the stag or hen do.

Musical

Singing, dancing and a big stage show: musicals combine a lot. You could see world-famous shows such as The Lion King, Starlight Express, West Side Story or Mamma Mia, or a lesser-known production, depending on what you're in the mood for.

Shooting range

In America it wouldn't be anything special for a stag or hen do, more like everyday life: target shooting 😉. But it's possible in Germany too. You'll need to go to a shooting club, where you can practise with real pistols and rifles.

Karaoke

Singing is good for you, so belt out a song together. Lots of bars have regular karaoke nights. Let loose there and sing together, or let the bride or groom sing a solo.

How to turn ideas into a plan
