Budget
Vienna sits in the middle: beer and Spritzer are cheap, cocktails and hotels cost more. Private cabins on the Giant Ferris Wheel, the party boat and weekends in ball season push the price up.
| Option | Per person | What's included |
|---|---|---|
| One night out | €45–90 | Beisl or Heuriger with food, a bar, a club |
| A day with an activity | €90–170 | plus an escape room, brewery tour, boat trip or thermal spa |
| Weekend | €170–350 | two nights out, one activity, one night in a double room, travel not included |
Guide prices per person, based on the prices of the venues and tours on this page. The bride or groom usually doesn't pay; their share is split across the group. The planner above adds up what your programme costs.
Travel isn't included, as that depends on where you're coming from. Accommodation is based on the country's price level. Work out your own budget with the cost calculator.
Seasonal tips
These festivals, balls and congresses come round every year. If your weekend falls on one of them, the city will be packed, and during congresses so will the hotels. If you'd rather keep things relaxed, plan around them.
Ball season starts on 11 November and peaks in January and February. Hotels are in demand then.
In March the European Congress of Radiology comes to Vienna, and hotels are scarce and expensive.
The beer hall in the Prater is open from mid-March to the end of October.
In June the parade makes its way along the Ringstraße.
One weekend in late June on the Donauinsel (Danube Island). The whole city is out then.
From early July to early September, open-air films on Rathausplatz, with free entry and food stalls.
From late September to mid-October, on around 18 days on the Kaiserwiese in the Prater.
From mid-November to Christmas in many districts, one of them on Spittelberg.
In the Prater since 1897, open all year.
The cathedral right in the middle of the Innere Stadt, open daily until 22:00.
Palace and palace gardens, both open daily all year round.
