Big clubs on Just Marlès, tapas in the old town, catamarans and jet skis off the beach, parasailing in Fenals: here's how to plan your stag do or hen party in Lloret de Mar, with the best things to do, closing times and taxis.

Stag & hen do planning tips

What does a night out cost?

We couldn't find reliable average prices for beer and cocktails in Lloret. What's documented: packages at Tropics from €30 according to the operator, and the All Inclusive Pass with 7 days' entry and 8 drinks for €69. At Londoner, according to a travel guide, entry includes vouchers for up to 2 drinks. All guide prices.

All costs and money-saving tips ↓

Getting home at night

There's no night bus, but you'll hardly need one: the old town, the Riera and the Just Marlès club strip are within walking distance of each other. For longer trips, call RadioTeletaxi on 972 36 25 25 or 972 36 20 00, or ServiTaxi on 676 45 25 45; the 4 taxi ranks are staffed round the clock. The town bus costs €1.60 per ride.

Taxis on the council website ↗

Closing time

According to the tourist office, music bars close at 03:00 and nightclubs at 05:00. Catalonia allows nightclubs 60 minutes longer on Fridays, Saturdays and before public holidays, and from 1 June to 15 September they get another 45 minutes. If you're at Tropics before 22:00, you get a stamp that guarantees entry.

What's banned?

Lloret regulates stag and hen parties specifically in its civic bylaw: noise, disturbance and costumes or props “in poor taste” are checked. If you harass residents you risk up to €750, according to the press, and the police can end the party. Drinking on the street is banned, and so is smoking on all the beaches.

Bring your ID

Without original ID you won't get in: Tropics only admits over-18s with valid photo ID, and photos or digital copies don't count. The same goes for the Gran Casino Costa Brava, where non-EU citizens need a passport. The tourist office advises only taking the cash you need for the day.

Getting there

The nearest airport is Girona: 30 km, about 20 minutes, and Sagalés line 613 runs from there via Lloret to Tossa. Barcelona airport is 90 km or about 60 minutes away. Lloret has no railway station: buses run every 30 minutes to Blanes, and from there trains take 1 hour 20 minutes to Barcelona.

Where to stay

For a hotel for your stag or hen do in Lloret de Mar, add the Catalan tourist tax: €1.80 per person per night in a 4-star hotel, €0.90 in simpler hotels and €1.75 in holiday apartments, for a maximum of 7 nights. If you want to sleep close to the clubs, look around the Riera; if you want peace and quiet, in Fenals.

Season and plan B

Lloret is a summer resort: lifeguards are on duty from 15 May to 15 October, Water World is only open from May to September, and Moef Gaga is open every night in summer only, according to Salir.com. In July and August the sea is about 23 to 25 °C. Plan B if it rains: the casino, the spa at Sant Pere del Bosc or the kart track.
