Warsaw Stag Do & Bachelor Party: Pawilony, Vodka in Praga and Clubs until Morning

Shot bars in the Pawilony off Nowy Świat, the vodka museum in Praga, clubs until morning and a boat on the Vistula: here's how to plan your stag do or hen party in Warsaw, with the best things to do and prices in złoty.

Good to know

Stag & hen do planning tips

What does a night out cost?

A beer (0.5 l) costs 15–20 zł in bars, a vodka shot at the Pijalnia 8–12 zł, cocktails 25–35 zł, or around 45 zł in clubs in the centre. Club entry ranges from free to 90 zł depending on the night. You pay in złoty, and cards work almost everywhere; tip about 10% in restaurants, usually in cash on the table even if you pay by card.

All costs and money-saving tips ↓

Getting home at night

Night buses marked with the letter N run from 23:15 to 04:45, mostly 2 times an hour, with the hub at Dworzec Centralny; the metro runs until 03:00 at weekends. A 75-minute ticket costs 4.40 zł, the 24-hour ticket 15 zł for Zone 1. Bolt, Uber and FreeNow operate; the maximum taxi fare at night is 10 zł flag fall plus 7.50 zł per km.

Warsaw public transport night lines ↗

Closing time

There's no closing time: Smolna runs until about 08:00 on Fridays and Saturdays, Luzztro into the morning, Niebo until 03:00. Shops and petrol stations across the city don't sell alcohol to take away between 22:00 and 06:00; bars and restaurants serving drinks are exempt. So stock up before 22:00, or just stay in the bar.

What's banned?

Drinking alcohol in public is banned in Poland, in streets, squares and parks. Warsaw's exception: on the Vistula boulevards on the left bank you're allowed to drink, by council resolution upheld by the Supreme Administrative Court. If you're driving: 0.2 per mille, and from 0.5 per mille it's a criminal offence. Bring ID; the clubs check.

Vodka and zakąski

At Pijalnia Wódki i Piwa at Nowy Świat 19 there are shots for 8–12 zł, served with zakąski: herring, aspic, pickled cucumbers. According to the guide, Pijalnia branches are open round the clock, and you pay in cash. If you say “dziękuję” when you pay, you're telling them to keep the change. To go deeper: the Muzeum Polskiej Wódki in Praga, with a guided tour and tasting from 70 zł.

Getting there

Non-stop to Warsaw Chopin from Frankfurt in 1 h 44 min, from Munich 1 h 34 min, from Berlin 1 h 13 min, from Vienna 1 h 14 min, from Zurich 1 h 57 min. The Berlin–Warsaw EuroCity takes about 5 h 30 min, with 7 trains a day and saver fares from €27.99. From Chopin Airport the S2 suburban train gets you to the centre in about 20 minutes for 4.40 zł; Modlin is 35 km north-west, and the shuttle bus and Koleje Mazowieckie trains bring you into the city.

Where to stay

For a hotel for your stag or hen do in Warsaw, Śródmieście between Nowy Świat and Plac Zbawiciela and the Old Town keep everything close; to get to Praga, take metro line M2 to Dworzec Wileński. A weekend night costs more than a weeknight, September is the most expensive month and January the cheapest; hostel beds cost a median of about €13 a night. In October, Warsaw Home and the Motor Show in Nadarzyn push prices up.

Weather and plan B

July is the warmest month, with highs around 25.2 °C, and with 85 mm also the wettest; the January average is −1.5 °C. The best time to go is mid-May to mid-September. Plan B if it rains: escape rooms at Dom Zagadek, bowling at Hulakula, the H.4.0.S gaming bar, the vodka museum or Hala Koszyki, all under one roof.

Budget

How much does a stag or hen do in Warsaw cost?

In Warsaw, half a litre of beer costs 15–20 zł in bars, a shot at the Pijalnia 8–12 zł, and a cocktail 25–35 zł. The shooting range (200–500 zł per package), rooftop bars and charter boats are what push the budget up; the Pijalnia, pierogi and milk bars keep it down.

Guide prices per person
OptionPer personWhat's included
One night out€35–70dinner, two bars and a club on Nowy Świat or in Praga
A day with an activity€70–135plus a shooting range, an escape room, bowling or a boat
Weekend€140–290two nights out, one activity, one night in a double room, travel not included

💡 How to save

  • Pijalnia instead of a rooftop: shots for 8–12 zł on Nowy Świat versus cocktails at 49–66 zł at The Roof SkyBar.
  • Per room, not per head: an escape room at Dom Zagadek costs 250 zł per room for up to 8 people, and karaoke at Izba from 100 zł per hour for the whole room.
  • 24-hour ticket: for 15 zł you can travel all day in Zone 1, night buses included.
  • Go clubbing early or midweek: Teatro Cubano is free Sunday to Wednesday and on Thursdays until 23:00; Smolna has free-entry nights during the week.
  • Milk bar instead of a restaurant: at Bar Mleczny Prasowy pierogi cost under 15 zł, żurek 8 zł.

Guide prices per person, based on the prices of the venues and tours on this page. The bride or groom usually doesn't pay; their share is split across the group. The planner above adds up what your programme costs.
